The Lightest And Most Protective German Violin Case
There's a reason people feel a sense of relief when they hear that something is German-engineered. And the Gewa Air 1.7 shaped violin cases are no exception! These cases are incredibly light and exceptionally tough.
What sparked the creation of these cases? The engineers at Gewa had one important goal in mind - to make the lightest and most protective violin cases at an affordable price. And they have definitely accomplished their ambitious goal with these sturdy full-size, hard-shell cases.
Gewa uses thermoplastic shells, which is a more affordable material compared to carbon fiber, to produce these shells. However, they use a special molding technique to form these shells, which is what allows the cases to be incredibly strong and durable. On top of that, thermoplastic doesn't heat up like carbon fiber cases do, making them more weather-resistant.
The Gewa Air violin cases are definitely the best violin cases you can choose when it comes to traveling.
Top Reasons To Get This Case
✔️ Only 3.5 lbs.
✔️ Great for traveling violinists
✔️ Extremely protective and durable
✔️ Great against hot and cold climates
✔️ Padded suspension system (suspends the violin so it doesn't knock against the case)
✔️ Patented bow holders that clicks into place, better for securing your bow
I have loved my case so far! Super durable and I love the color! I will say the material does tend to show scratches and scuffs pretty easily. Because of that I have chosen to add all the backstage pass stickers of the places I play, to my case. It’s a fun way to cover any scuffs and has presented good conversation with strangers when I fly! I do highly recommend this for traveling musicians. It’s super light and easy to carry with the back straps. It also fits into the overhead compartments really well!
This is a great case that does everything I need it to with as little weight and bulk as possible. I have walked 60 NYC blocks with this case on my back; it did not chafe or cause shoulder/neck pain, and the backpack straps were surprisingly comfortable. I am also pleased with the interior suspension, the sturdy locks, and the secure bow spinners. The brown color is darker and richer than it appeared online, and I like the sleek exterior. My only small gripe is that the accessory pouch is difficult to unzip unless you remove it from the case each time, but doing so wears out the Velcro that fastens it inside. Overall, I am very pleased and if this case holds up as well as my other Gewa case, it will be well worth the price.
This case is super light. The inside is snug but still fits a collapsible shoulder rest, cloth and strings. The accessory pocket is great for rosin and small items. Very well made. Shoulder straps are comfy and reinforced. Case top opens up flat. Packed well and quick shipping. I will definitely purchase from this company again.
