I love the case. It is sturdy and solid and provides great protection for my precious violin, to take it to lessons and Orchestra. I got the black exterior with wine interior and it makes a beautiful addition to my music room. I leave it open on a console table with my violin in it and the blanket over it (to protect my instrument from the harsh sun through the window). I don’t have children or pets in the home so I feel safe doing this, it adds beauty to my room and makes it quick to practice. I don’t find the case is at all too heavy, I wondered about the weight but I do not notice any difference from my old wooden case. The little hygrometer clip catches on my bow strings, but since I only have two bows I simply put my main bow in the upper one and the spare bow in the set above that. I do not use the hygrometer as I think consistently lower humidity is better than me forgetting to soak it and causing a lot of change. The only thing I would change is the when you set it, closed, on the floor, longways, it should stand up straight, but it leans slightly due to the feet and rings on the bottom. Not really a problem.
