Here are all of the frequently asked questions that we get here at Great Violin Cases.
Do you provide discounts?
Great Question! And it never hurts to ask :) We definitely offer discount codes that you can use during checkout. It really depends on the season, and what we have in stock. However, don't be shy! Send an email to info@greatviolincases.com or fill out the form on our contact us page. Simply say you're "looking for a discount", and we'll definitely try our best to find one for you!
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day money back guarantee on our cases! If you're not satisfied, you have the option to return the item(s) within 30 days of receipt. Check our Return Policy for more details.
I don't see the case I'm looking for...
No worries! Simply send an email to info@greatviolincases.com. We actually stock a lot more cases than we show online. And we work directly with several reputable brands. So whatever you're looking for, we'll help you find it.
The case I ordered doesn't fit my instrument. Do I still pay return shipping?
This is a common question we get! If the case doesn't fit, you are responsible for the cost of return shipping.
You can always check with us first before purchasing the case. However, our team cannot make any guarantees, since we don't have the full measurements of your instrument. If you have an instrument with more unique dimensions, especially for cellos, please order online at your own risk.
However, if we send you a different size case from what you ordered (i.e. you order a full size case, and we send you a 3/4 size case by accident), we will definitely cover the cost of return shipping, along with getting the correct case to you ASAP.
Do your full-size cello cases fit Montagnana cellos?
No! Our standard full-size cello cases will not fit Montagnana cellos. If you are looking for a case for a Montagnana cello, please message us directly.
What is the lightest violin case you have?
Some of our top sellers would be the Bam Hightech contoured cases. They only weigh 3.5 lbs. Another popular option would be the Gewa violin cases, which weigh anywhere from 3.52 lbs. to 4.4 lbs.
Do you have a case suitable for air travel?
Great question. To re-phrase, do we have a case that meets the dimension regulations of airlines? We do have the Bam cabin cases. These were specially designed to meet the regulations of most major airlines. However, it doesn't have space for a bow. Since bows exceed the maximum length requirement of these airlines. A separate bow tube is provided (as a gift from Great Violin Cases). This way, you can place the bow tube in your check-in luggage. Then carry the compact cabin case with you on the plane. This case is perfect for those who travel a lot. However, if you occasionally travel, and mostly through major airlines, any of the Bam contoured or Gewa contoured cases will do just fine. Most airlines do accept these contoured cases, even though they exceed dimension regulations by a little bit.
I'm looking for a full size violin case.
You've come to the right place! Every violin case on our site is for full size violins. Some full size cases have 3/4 size and 1/2 size models too.
What would you recommend for young students?
Here's a page of our top-selling violin cases for students. A lot of these cases are quite affordable and light weight.
Do you sell wood violin cases?
We definitely sell wood violin cases! If you're looking for a wooden case worthy of your valuable instrument, then check out these Negri cases. This is the same name trusted by the most famous violinists, including Maxim Vengerov!
Do you sell water-proof violin cases?
We sell water-resistant cases, but not water proof. Water proof means we can submerge the violin case in a swimming pool, and no water will get in. Unfortunately, we're not quite there...yet! However, if you take a look at some of our hard cases like the Bam Hightech cases, Gewa cases, or Tonareli cases, you'll find some of the most water-resistant cases out there.
Do you sell Fiberglass 3/4 size violin cases?
We do not sell fiberglass cases for 3/4 size violins. The awesome brands we work with do not manufacture 3/4 size fiberglass cases at this time. However, we do have a list of other popular 3/4 size violin cases.

If you want to first double check to make sure your viola will fit, send us a message. Keep in mind though, our team cannot make any guarantees. Since there are so many aspects to the fit of a viola. Please order online at your own risk.
