Quick Specs
Bam is extremely well known for its innovative design, breaking the standards in crafting protective and durable cello cases.
The Bam Newtech cello case is a reflection of Bam's innovation. Trusted by professionals around the world to protect their valuable cellos: it’s lightweight, protective, durable, and beautiful.
Newtech is inspired by Bam’s patented Hightech protection technology.
The shell of this case is made of ABS composite, a popular material used for helmets. It is extremely strong, scratch-resistant, and impact-resistant, making it an ideal material to protect orchestral string instruments.
The weight of this case ranges from 12.1 lb. (without wheels) to 12.75 lb. (with wheels).
This case comes with a suspension system placed along the neck and lower bout of your cello. These are the paddings that absorb impacts and shocks. This means if you drop the case, the suspension paddings absorb the impact. Ensuring the instrument itself doesn't knock against the hard shell of the case.
The case features a neck buckle, which is more durable and longer lasting than the typical velcro straps. Velco can lose its "stickiness" over time.
A unique feature of this model is that you have the option to choose wheels.
For cellists who usually drive to rehearsals, and would prefer not to carry a large instrument on their back, getting the Newtech case with wheels is a great option.
On the other hand, for cellists who are constantly on foot between rehearsals and don't find it convenient wheeling a cello on rougher city streets and curbs, the "no wheels" option would work best.
The case comes with 2 neoprene padded backpack straps and D-rings that form an upside-down V-shape on the back of the case.
