Bam Panther Contoured Violin Case

I wish I could say I loved this case. It's typical high quality that Bam is known for. I've just retired my old Bam case, which was solid as a rock for 15 years. This case is obviously of the same quality of construction and seems just as solid, with nice materials. The rubberized cover looks great.

But there are some things about it that simply don't work. The rosin/gear pouch, instead of being located next to the body of the violin, is located next to the scroll. Putting anything at all in the pouch makes that end of the case too heavy so that it wants to point toward the ground when carrying it.

Another backwards feature is that the bow tips go in the right side of the case top and lock in from the left, the opposite of any case I've ever owned. I didn't think it would bug me, but it really is awkward for a right-handed person. I'm also not sold on the lay-flat design.

I've used the case for a week now, so it's not new anymore. I'll get used to it, but am disappointed. Bam could have done a way better job designing this.

I’ve been looking to replace a 12 year old Bam oblong case with something lighter and sleeker, and this one is perfect! It is beautiful and has space for all the essentials. I only wish it had room for a pencil!

I was reluctant to buy a contoured case due to less space inside, but am very happy with it as it is very protective, light weight and well made. The hardware and workmanship are first class and I am confident that my Gagliano will be safe in it!

Excellent case, stylish, lightweight, and the outer shell

is very strong. The outer material looks great and is nonslip unlike my other Bam carbon fiber case which I swear by. I actually slipped on ice a few years ago and landed on my back while carrying the case,

landing on the case with all my weight. The case saved not only my back and head, but the violin was in tune when I took it out. Love the Bam cases!

I like how light and sturdy the case is. I wish there was better spacing for the shoulder rest. I have a kun and it just ever so slightly rubs up against the pegs and feels a little too tight or something. Also I wish the bow holster faced the other direction. I realize it’s just habit because almost every other case I’ve used had the frog at the “bottom” of the case. Overall I’m really please with the durability, feel, and weight of the case. Feels perfect for traveling
