Bam Peak Performance Violin Case

I really like this case. My violin sits nice and snug and safe as I bounce around from gig to gig. I travel a lot and am really tired of having multiple bags to schlep with all my gear.

This case really helps with that. I can fit my iPad and music and other gear in the big pocket. My music editing gear, pencils, highlighters, post it notes scissors and tape and pencil sharpener in the middle pocket. And my rosin, strings, mutes, wallet and keys in the top pocket.

It has made travel so much easier for me to have everything in one case rather than numerous bags that I used to have to carry with me.

It also has netting on the big pocket where you can put a piece of clothing for layers, and a water bottle from BAM.

This has made a big difference in making my traveling life so much easier.

This case is not for everyone. If you're going for light and easy this is not your case. It's also quite a bit thicker than most cases, so does not fit in tighter spaces that previous cases did.

But if you would like to consolidate everything into one place, then it's for you.

The shoulder straps are wide enough that they do not bite into the shoulders, and the molded back of the case feels comfortable and supportive.

I have only flown once so far with this case but it worked great! I fly frequently for touring so I hope it does the job as a carry on without the airlines hassling me to check it.

I have owned 3 BAM Trekker cases. I ride a motorcycle to work, with the violin on my back. This case has a nice compact size that will fit on any airline, if you take the bow tube off. And I have toured all over the world. The bow tube is strong PVC, air-tight and water-tight. So that's a real plus when traveling, because you can always offer to the steward that you can place the bow-tube in the coat closet, or even under the airplane, when you travel; that leaves the compact portion with the violin in it to go safely in overhead storage. I also love the compact design for walking. I walk long distances on tours, and the new back-padding and air-flow features are excellent. Very comfortable when using it as a back-pack.

Great case. It's got a hard shell to protect the violin from impact. It feels like there are metal strips to support the outer shell structure. The straps are much better than your average violin back pack straps. They're foam and offer great comfort. Internally, good quality foam, snug fit for the violin. Plenty of space to store my stuff. It comes with a water bottle. Honestly, not sure what I'm going to do with it. The water bottle gets in the way when I open the case on a table. Not really sure what it's purpose is.

My only concern is the backpack straps may have some weak spots where the stitching looks funny and extra stitching would have been nice. Not sure how that will last over time. See pictures for more info.

Overall, much bigger upgrade compared to cheap 100 dollar cases on Amazon. Weight is okay.

Great case for travel but it's a bit top heavy as that is where all the storage is, so a little awkward when opening, unless you can lean it against something. Comfortable to use with backpack straps. Good handles. Worth the price they want though?......yea, your paying for the bam name brand. All in all a well made case. Will see how it hold up after a year of torture.
