Terrific and Light Case, compared to my 1980 wood oblong case
Bought this because it was relatively light for an oblong case, and because of the spacious and open zones on both sides, top and bottom, relative to the violin. Note there is no latch, so you have to use the zippers every time to close and open, but I'm getting used to that. At first, the lid seems like it won't stay open, but after a couple weeks use and some stretching of the band at the left, it stays open fine. My full size violin fits perfectly, and I love the fact that all the padding around the edges has some give to it, like a firm foam, and the middle of the back does not touch the case. After one month's use to and from rehearsal, it seems quite well made. In combo with a digital hygrometer and a Boveda sleeve, (bought separately) the case maintains a reliable 45-55% relative humidity in Northern CA. Removable pouch is a bonus
