Bam Submarine Viola Case Hoody Black

It keeps my case from getting scratched, and has a pocket.

I travel a lot, and so the Bam viola case plus this hoody makes a great combination. First, the Bam case itself is very light (hence my choice for traveling)— but its surface easily scratches, and it only has two clasps which are not the most secure in my experience. Having the hoody solves that issue completely— no longer have to worry about one of the clasps coming undone! Plus it keeps my instrument feeling much more protected from weather or temperature changes. I also like the appearance of the hoody— it’s sleek and compact.

10/10 would definitely recommend. Cozy fit, keeps the temperature of my viola and case consistent. Of course protects the case from bangs, dings and scratches. When it rains it doesn’t soak up the rain.

I've had my BAM case for a decade, liking the lightweight solid protection, and putting up with the scuffs, buffing them out with car polish cleaner. A recent tumble with case in hand convinced me to look for extra protection (although 260 year old viola was unscathed even though I was not). This cover does offer some peace of mind; however it is by no means "no weight" as the manufacturer suggests: I reckon 1 to 1.5 lb. additional. The case cover is somewhat loose fitting, so that it does not cling to the case, especially since the case itself is so slick. All in all, this is a practical solution for me.
