Bobelock 1063 Violin Case

It does everything I need it to for the price. It protects my violin well.

The Bobelock 1063 violin case came soon after I ordered it. I purchased it for my wife, who has taken up the violin again after she retired . Red is her favorite color and the case looks exactly as presented online, a rich deep red. The quality of the case is great , well built. The only question I had is the violin case has locks on the closure clasp, but I didn’t see any keys in the box when delivered. Outside of that the case is great.

This case is a great value for the price. I first bought one for my daughter a few years ago when she started flying a lot with her violin, and it’s held up really well. She’s liked it so much that I ended up replacing my old oblong plywood case with one too.

It’s not huge, but it fits everything you actually need. My Kun shoulder rest fits easily, and there’s a zippered compartment that holds rosin, mutes, and a few other small things without any problem.

The bow holders are simple and do what they’re supposed to—no complaints there.

The violin itself feels really secure inside. It’s suspended on soft padding, with a Velcro strap across the fingerboard to hold it in place. There’s also a padded block that rests on top near the tailpiece, which adds a little extra stability.

The zippered cover is a nice bonus. It makes the case look a bit more low-key, especially when you’re carrying it onto a plane. Hopefully you never have to gate check your violin, but if you do, the extra layer definitely helps you feel a little better about it.
