Gewa Air 2.1 Violin Case

Bought this for my new violin (great deal directly from luthier for ~$3000, but would’ve probably marked upwards to ~$6000 in retail shops).

The case is heavier than I expected, but knew it would be much more sturdier than what I had before (a cheap student case that came as an outfit to my old student violin). It can hold both my Bonmusica and Kun shoulder rests. Got plain matte black since I don’t care for the other color options (person preference), so I’ll probably put some stickers on it to add personality to it.

The only thing I thought was silly (in my opinion) was the clear plastic tube inside which is apparently to hold your strings? (Keeping them in the packets and slipping it under the removable pouch works just fine for me.) It was never mentioned in any description about this case.

Five stars because it’s just *good.* Can’t find anything negative about it. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I love my new case. It’s super sleek looking and appears to be very protective. I love how the bow holders snap into place and that I can Velcro my Bon Musica shoulder bar into place. My violin fits snug in the case and is almost floating due to the suspensions. I also like the removable pouch for all my accessories (rosin, cleaning cloths, pencils, mutes, etc.)

Overall I am extremely happy with my case and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a protective, sleek, lightweight option.

I bought and new bow and instrument over the past couple of years, and still carried them in the case I used as a student. I bought this case because I wanted something air-tight and weather resistant, after a few seams on my instrument opened after a very humid summer! I love the oblong shape, because I love more room in by case. I am able to keep 3 bows and my instrument with shoulder rest comfortably in this case with everything safe! This case has yet to disappoint, I am very pleased. The color is great, the detachable pouch holds all the materials that I am used to carrying around in my case(extra strings, tack cloth, mute, tuner, pencils, rosin) with less weight than my last case. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and feel very secure. I like the fact that the straps and music pouch on the back are detachable, for when I'm traveling, but I don't tend to travel all that often right now. I am pleased with the quality and price, as this case felt as secure as the higher price point cases of Gewa, but at the more affordable price. Overall, very happy with this case, the air-tight seal, the color is great, and it shipped very quickly!

Unique case which appears strong and durable.

This case is fantastic! It is lightweight but holds the violin, bow, shoulder rest and sheet music with room to spare and can be worn over shoulders or carried with the top handle. The blue color is perfect!
