Very solid choice

I needed a double case for ease of travel with violin and viola, and this seemed like a good choice at a reasonable price. It exceeded my expectations, and I'm very happy with it. It's not exactly lightweight, but the fiddles seem well protected. Since my viola is on the smaller side for this case (15"), I can squeeze in my shoulder rests in the gap below what holds the lower bout. If your viola is larger, shoulder rest storage will be a problem. All in all a choice I'm more than happy with. The only thing that feels weird is that it only opens up to 90 degrees, so you have to hold it open if placed on a slightly tilted surface.

Perfect

It's so much easier to carry both my instruments in one case. The comfortable backpack straps make it feel lighter than it actually is. There isn't any room for shoulder rests, which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
