This Howard Core CC4500 cello case is both lightweight and protective for its price, making it very popular among students and aspiring musicians!
Generally, any cello case under 10 lb. will be $1000 and up unless it’s made of foam or other weaker materials.
However, Howard Core wanted to provide a protective cello case, especially for students, without breaking the bank.
This case is made of a mixture of fiberglass and other protective materials, creating a strong, light, and temperature-resistant case. These are important to secure your instrument from impacts and inclement temperature changes that could damage your cello.
The shell is also textured, making it more scratch-resistant.
Another unique feature is that this case has wheels. Generally, cases under 10 lb. don’t have wheels.
Even though this case is lighter than standard cello cases, that doesn’t mean cellists want to carry the case on their backs all the time.
These wheels give musicians the option to pull their case when they don’t feel like carrying it on their backs. Or if they’re already carrying backpacks.
This case comes with D-rings and two straps that form an upside-down V-shape, allowing you to carry the case like a backpack.
This case comes with a suspension system that protects your cello from knocking against the case itself. These are the cushioned paddings placed along the neck and lower bout of your cello. If you drop the case, the paddings absorb the shock, not your cello.
This case has an accessories pouch to store essentials like rosin, cleaning cloth, and strings.

The case came fast and it was what I would expect. It is functioning well so far and I hope it lasts. My son is using it to take the cello on the school bus and it seems to do the job of protecting the cello. The only downside is that the case doesn't have any compartment for music sheets or music books. Overall speaking, it was a good purchase and I hope it lasts.
