Jakob Winter Greenline Shaped Viola Case

Positives: sleek design, super lightweight

Cons: I would have liked just a bit more room for a shoulder rest to fit comfortably. Mostly, however, as there is overlap when the cover meets the base, there is some misalignment (or imprecision in the mold) so that the two sides don't slide into each other easily. I find that I have to gently push on the bottom shell each time to seat it properly with the top so that the latches meet.

It indeed very light, and sturdy at the same time. Excellent quality and price. Highly recommended.

Great case, lightweight

This case makes all the difference in commuting to engagements. It is so light - removes the burden of walking around with one’s instrument.

The good/great: size, lightness, and attractiveness. The less than fabulous factor: the description states that the case accommodates a size 15 to 16and 1/2 size viola. This accommodation is effected by cloth covered length of styrofoam that fits along the lower bout part of the case. My viola, a 15 and 1/2 inch Gasparo de Salo model did not fit, as it was too wide for proper closer of the case with the foam situated where it was. Determined to take advantage of the lightness, I cut the styrofoam into two arcs, and affixed them into the upper bout part of the case, so now my viola fits and I'm able to close the case. I like the "Easy-Access' lock, but one must pay close attention that the case is actually closed and locked.
