Molto Neo Shaped Violin Case

We were looking for a lightweight, protective case that was big enough to hold a shoulder rest and that could grow with our daughter when she later transitions from a 3/4 to full size violin. So far, the Molto Neo shaped violin case is meeting our expectations.

We waited for the blue color to be restocked since we wanted a textured finish, rather than satin - we hope this finish will be more scratch resistant over time. It looks great!

The backpack straps are comfortably padded. The zippered pouch can fit rosin, a cleaning cloth, and a mute. We like that the case stays in the open position on its own. There is an included blanket.

Two things to note: the case gives off a strong chemical odor. Hopefully this will dissipate over time. We found that for a 3/4 size bow, you need to flip the bow so the hair faces up. Doing so slightly shits the weight so the spinner can properly keep the bow in place. Otherwise, the bow was too short to fit into the mesh pouch at the tip and it slid out of place.

Love this case! This case is lighter and easier to open than my previous case. It easily fits my full size violin and shoulder rest. I also love the smaller size as it takes up less space in my car and room. I would definitely buy this again.

I was looking for a lightweight case that was big enough to safely carry my violin and shoulder rest. As a plus, I can also transport my two bows in it. The case is beautifully made, the purple color is eye‑popping, and the instrument rests in a well‑padded, secure interior. I would recommend it to anyone who is tired of carrying heavy cases but still needs a bit more space than fitted cases afford.

I purchased this case because of its weight. I also like the selection of colors. Overall the case is excellent. I feel that the violin is cushioned very well inside. The case is compact but there's enough room for my bomb musica shoulder, rest, set of strings, rosin and a few other little parts.

Your case appears to be well made, although I was a little bit disappointed in the latches and hinges. Another small annoyance is that on the bottom of the case, there's a couple of bumpers that the case would rest on when you set it down. And the other two bumpers are actually the hinges. So in order for the case to balance on the edge, it uses both hinges in both little bumpers. I have a feeling over time that the hinges will get scratched up. I might add a couple of extra bumpers right near the hinges so there's four bumpers instead of just two.

I read a lot about polycarbonate cases, and I'm assuming that the cases is strong as it needs to be based on the properties of polycarbonate. Time will tell. I've just had the case for a couple of weeks. It may be a little prone to scratching. But not as bad as my old fiberglass case.

Overall, I am happy.
