Jakob Winter Merlot Red Tech Leather Violin Case

Introducing the all new "Tech" leather violin cases by Jakob Winter! The exterior cover is made of composite materials and artificial leather that is water repellent and weather resistant. Great for violinists that want the unique leather case without worrying about the "weathered" look and extra care required of real leather cases.

These cases are built on Jakob Winter's signature Greenline shells that do not use any toxic glues. Eco-friendly materials are used throughout including a high-quality cotton velvet interior.

The case also features a spacious pocket under the instrument for shoulder rest and accessories. Something you don't find on most contoured violin cases. Plus the case only weighs 3.5 lbs.! Making it one of the lightest violin cases out there.

I really like this case

I really like the case a lot, and I'm pretty picky. I wanted something less expensive than a Bam and also something different looking than all the good carbon-fiber cases that all look kind of the same. The case is very good looking (to me at least), and the covering material feels really soft and leather-like, kind of bugs me that it is not totally smooth - no big deal really though as you only notice it if the light hits it just right , and I'm being really picky here. I've only had it for a month or so but have used it a lot every day teaching at 4 different schools and playing many gigs and rehearsals, but the case seems very durable - it fell out of my hatch-back on to a rough concrete street the third day I got it and the violin was totally fine. The case did not scuff at all, seems pretty scuff-proof. The design is great, the bow holders are really secure and fit my 2 favorite bows well even though one if them is longer than most bows; the shoulder rest fits easily with room to spare (I have a Kun, but pretty much any will fit), I like that there's a space for the shoulder rest at the end between the button on the violin and the end of the case, seems like that space there gives extra protection; the area for the rosin is really small, just enough for a cake and one of those heavy practice mutes and nothing else, no big deal except you have to put extra strings under the neck and it doesn't look very neat; the only things I don't really like is that when you open…

Lightweight and affordable

I was searching for a lightweight and reasonably affordable violin case, and I think I found a winner! Highlights also include: sturdy handle, solid locks, quality material inside and outside, fun color (however, the stone color looks a bit darker in person than in photos - I almost thought I ordered the jazz color). Opens 180 degrees. Enough storage for rosin and shoulder rest. The shoulder straps are comfortable and easily removable. I have yet to see how this REALLY holds up in all kinds of weather and in transit. So far so good.
