Gewa Maestro violin case -green interior
First thing, the color is a rich forest green, not the teal shown on the website. Really pretty and plush.
Problem: I have a very high set chin rest and the case has two cushions which hit the chin rest and presses on the neck at the same time, so I am very worried that the two cushions will cause damage to my instrument. Otherwise, the case is wonderful. Not roomy, but it does hold the Bon Musica shoulder rest. There isn’t much room for anything else in the compartment, but it fits. The top zip compartment on the outside of the case will not hold much - perhaps several sheets of paper, but nothing taller than about 1/4”, without causing the compartment to stretch or become deformed. So remove strings from their carton and put the strings in with just their slip covers. There are no instructions for using the humistat, but you can readily find a video on Youtube, so that’s not a problem. Overall, beautiful case but not very roomy. I still wish there were a tie or something to hold the violin in the case. I also wish there had been a stress test for the case so I would know how it compares to other cases, in protecting the violin from damage. I couldn’t find that information anywhere on the site or on Youtube, or other sites that sell this case.
